Complete templates to learn from: meet Animal Charity Rescue

One click gives you a whole working system: lists, a public website, a management portal, forms and automations. The first complete template, featured today, runs an animal rescue.

Flexlists keeps growing: new views, applications, forms, automations. Each one is useful on its own, but the real question is always how do I put them together for my own work? So we are adding something new to the gallery: complete templates. One click on Use this gives you a whole working system — lists full of realistic sample data, views, a management app, a public website, forms and automations — all wired to each other. Use it as it is, change it, or take it apart to see how it was built.

The first one is featured today: Animal Charity Rescue.

The public website of the Animal Charity Rescue template

A public website for the animals

Every rescue needs a place where people can meet the animals. The template comes with a public website on its own address, with nothing to host or install:

  • Dogs and cats galleries with filters for size, age, sex and "good with kids, dogs or cats".
  • A page per animal with a photo gallery (swipe on your phone), videos, the animal's story, a health summary and a timeline of updates.
  • Happy endings: adopted animals with their before-and-after photos.
  • Adopt, volunteer and contact forms that write straight into your lists, plus a blog and a newsletter signup.

Only what you mark as public is shown. Adopters' details, costs and private health notes stay in your lists.

Donations, with a bank QR code

The donate page lets visitors pick an amount, one-off or monthly, for the rescue or for one animal. They get your bank details with a payment reference and an EPC QR code (GiroCode) that most European banking apps can scan, so there are no card fees. Every pledge lands in your Donations list as pending, with the same reference, ready to tick off when the money arrives. If you use a payment link (Stripe, Mollie…), add it in Settings and the button appears.

A portal to run it all

Behind the website is a members-only portal for your team, built on the same lists:

  • Dashboard: donations today, this week, month and year, animals in care, adoptions, overdue vaccinations and everything coming up in the next 14 days.
  • Adoptions: a pipeline from new application through screening and home check to approved, with bookable time slots for home checks and pickups, so there's no double booking.
  • Calendar with home checks, pickups, vet appointments and vaccinations that are due.
  • Health: vet visits, vaccinations (overdue first) and medication per animal.
  • Finance and tax: donation charts per day, week, month and year, CSV and Excel exports, and a printable annual statement per donor with the right text for their country across the euro zone.
  • Animals, blog, newsletters, inbox and outbox, all in one place.

Put it on any website

Already have a website? The portal gives you copy-paste snippets: a widget that shows a random animal looking for a home (with a link to its page), and every form — adoption interest, follow an animal, newsletter, contact, volunteering, donation pledge — ready to embed on WordPress, Wix or a partner's site.

Mail, step by step

Confirmations, reminders, "news about the animal you follow" and newsletters are prepared by automations and queued in an Outbox list, with photos and an unsubscribe link. Sending them through our mail service is the next step; until then you can see and check every message before anything goes out.

Learn from it, then make your own

A complete template is also the fastest way to learn Flexlists. Open any list and look at its views: a gallery for the animals, a calendar for pickups, a kanban for applications, a chart for donations. Open the portal or the website in the app builder and see how its pages read and write those same lists. Change a field, add a view, rename the whole thing for a shelter, a sports club or a food bank — it's yours.

Animal Charity Rescue is the first. More complete templates are on the way, and so are the features that make them possible. Find it in the Gallery and click Use this.
