What's new in Flexlists: formulas, linked lists, AI agents and app roles
A round-up of the week: formulas with AI, two-way links with rollups, connecting your AI assistant, roles for applications, and smaller improvements from mind map layouts to exports.

A lot landed in Flexlists over the last week. The four big ones each have their own post. Below them is everything else that got better, from mind maps to exports.
The big ones
- Formulas that do more. 108 functions with Airtable's names, results that are real dates, checkboxes and lists, formulas that read linked lists, and ✦ Describe it instead: say what you want and Flexlists writes the formula, explains it and fixes it.
- Link your lists. One link that works from both sides, Rollup, Count and Lookup fields through it, and imports that bring a whole Airtable or Baserow base over with its links in place.
- Connect your AI assistant. Claude, ChatGPT, Cursor and other AI apps can now read and update your lists, with exactly the rights you give them.
- Who can do what in your applications. Roles with per-list rights and page access, users and invites, maintainers who help you build, and solutions that share one set of roles over several apps.
Smaller things that got better
- Mind maps in three layouts. Pick Tree, Wings or Radial from little pictures in the view settings or the view wizard. The toolbar is now a single compact row of icons, also on phones.
- Checklists for anything. The checklist view no longer reads as a car-only feature: there are templates for other jobs, and a guided wizard builds the whole checklist with you, step by step.
- See what a lookup points to. A lookup field in a row now has View details, which opens the linked row in a popup with all its fields.
- Turn a text field into a link. Changing a field's type now also converts a text field into a link to another list.
- Exports follow your view. Exporting a list or view only includes the columns that are visible in it.
- Better on phones. Dragging a column edge now really resizes the column, and boards with many cards no longer slow a phone down.
- Straight to your workspace. Opening flexlists.com in a new window when you are signed in now takes you directly to your lists.
- Gallery installs. Installing a solution from the gallery keeps the rest of Flexlists responsive while it works, and the demo photos come along.

Everything above is live on flexlists.com today. Start with the posts linked at the top, or just open a list and add a Formula or Link to another list field.
